Happy Birthday to me!

So, today was my 27th birthday! I don't feel a day over 24! :)
Joseph has been so great today (like he's not every other day, but today was extra special). Last night at midnight, he gave me a bunch of my favorite flowers, Stargazer Lilies and my first present. He handmade an FHE board for me! It's not completely finished but you get the idea! I'll post another picture later once it's complete. I couldn't believe he made it himself! He's so creative! Then, this morning he dropped Jonathan off at our sisters house and let me open my next present, but he made me do a kind of scavenger hunt to find it. They're shoes made for barefoot running and I am so super pumped about them! My friend, Lindsey introduced me to them from her blog and I had to have them as soon as I saw them! They're on back order so I won't get them until the end of this month, but when I do, I'll be sure to write a full review! :) Then he took me to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and we got a Willow Tree figurine and two jars of my favorite candy growing up as a kid, Assorted Sours. You can't find them anywhere anymore, but apparently they're at Cracker Barrel!
Then, we went home and changed to go to Denton's water park, Water Works. But before we left, I got to open another present, the Settlers of Catan game.

If you haven't played, you should. So fun!
After the water park, we picked up Jonathan and went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Sweet Basil. We've been going here since we were dating so it definitely holds a special place in my heart. We had so much fun, just the two of us! Joseph and I haven't had a whole day alone together since Jonathan was born, so I truly appreciated this! I definitely have the BEST HUSBAND EVER!

Olympics

The USA Men's Gymnastics Team won the bronze medal in the team final tonight! I am so excited about their amazing comeback from injury after injury. They lost their only veteran Olympian, Paul Haam, so for this team to be all rookies and still medal is incredible! Now it's time for the women to rock the house.
And did y'all see the men's 4x100 free relay with Michael Phelps, Garrett Weber-Gale, Cullen Jones & Jason Lezak? They were world record breaking by over 4 seconds! Lezak came from behind the French, the favorites, and beat them by just .08 of a second! Man I love the Olympics!

Forgotten pictures

These were taken a couple weeks ago but I told my mom I would put them up on the good ol' blog. Sorry it took so long mama!

Family fun

This past weekend my family celebrated my birthday along with my dad's and my cousin Ashley's. Here is a pic of all my cousins and most of our significant others. My brother's girlfriend Terell wasn't able to come so she's not in it. I'll post more once my madre emails the rest to me. Hint hint... Can't wait to get to the Smoky Mountains everyone! It's gonna be a blast!

Daddy can be so relaxing

Joseph is a champ at lulling Jonathan to sleep while on his belly. This was taken at Nona & Papi's house today after dinner. Joseph was imitating Jonathan's little grunts & sighs and it completely relaxed Jonathan to the point where he actually fell asleep for about 2 minutes. You can't tell from the picture because Jonathan's eyes are wide awake but he eventually shut them and looked so peaceful. Then he woke up after realizing how he was sleeping and was not a happy baby!

Following the footsteps of Daddy Mac

My dad is a huge golfer and keeps saying he's gonna buy Jonathan his first set of clubs when he turns one. We went to Golf Galaxy to buy yet another golf related gift for my pops for his birthday and saw this little toy. Super cute! Jonathan seemed more interested in the gum balls than the actual toy.
