Baby Pool Extravaganza!
Yay for baby pools! We found this for cheap at Kroger and filled it up for the first time today. Jonathan had a blast splashing and even got brave enough to stick his face in the water. I think it was more for the ability to drink the water than for any other purpose, but face-in-water nonetheless. He loved when Joseph poured water from one of his buckets.
PB&J with a side of dirt
I made Jonathan a sandwich yesterday and let him outside with the door open while I made myself a quick lunch. Next thing I know, Jonathan has a mouthful of sandwich and dirt smeared on his face with a little bit in his mouth! He had dug in my pots while eating and decided to have a taste. Apparently, this runs in my family. My brother did the same thing at Baby J's age. Before we cleaned up, I had to get a picture. Isn't that what all great mothers do?
Disc Golf and Rainy Days
Last Saturday, Joseph and I decided to go play disc golf at North Lakes. I had never played before and really liked it! The weather had said all week it was supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday, but the sun had shone all day so we thought, "What the heck? Let's go!" Of course as we were driving there, it starts to sprinkle. But that looked to be the worst of it. Next thing we know, we've loaded Jonathan into his stroller and we're on the third hole when the heavens open and it starts POURING! I'm not talking just rain, it is downright pouring! Like - you can't see 5 feet in front of your face pouring! We finish the hole and decide to turn around but by the time we make it halfway back to our car, we're drenched so why not finish the remaining 15 holes? Jonathan was fine - just splashing the water in the cupholders on his tray. We all had hats on and Jonathan had the awning covering his head so we went for it. I have to say it's been one of our funnest dates! I haven't played in the rain in years! Corey and I used to run out to the football field backed up to our house and play in the rain when we were young and I felt like a kid again!
Thankfully, the rain stopped by the time we were on the ninth hole and the sun came back out. Clothes are heavy when wet! We had a great time! After we finished, we went home and changed into dry clothes and went to eat at Pei Wei, then on to Coldstone for ice cream. YUM! By the time we got home for good, we were exhausted. Jonathan passed out in the car and went straight to bed. A great way to end - full bellies and sleeping baby!
Mr. Turtle made an appearance on the 15th hole.
An old friend
I went to dinner with one of my old cheerleading buddies from back in the day. We had sushi and rivoting convo - just like the old days! Don't you love when you're able to pick up with someone right where you left off, whether it's been days since you last saw each other or 6 years?

And so it begins...
Joseph has graciously taken on the task of redoing our master bathroom. We are in the beginning stages of magnificence but I assure you...it will be done! When Joseph is the foreman, the end result is nothing but ideal. I'll update you as the progress takes place.
PS~ This is merely a way for me to show off my handy dandy husband if nothing else. Like anyone cares if I'm getting new cabinets and a shiny new sink! Be prepared for a sweaty Joseph and lots of destruction... I mean construction! My man has a way with a hammer and a few nails!
