Mike's Birthday Party

A while back we went to one of my dad's coworker's husband's birthday parties. Did you get all that? They had a DJ and tons of good food and who can resist either? My parents had a blast showing Jonathan off to all his colleagues and we were just happy to get out for a night!

This video showcases Jonathan's amazing booty shakin' skills. It's so funny to watch him. We're working on using his feet and hands more. :)

Corey Mac

Jonathan and I went to Colorado this past weekend to visit my brother and his fiance, Terell. Unfortunately, I didn't take ANY pictures. We had a blast though. Jonathan was in heaven with Corey, Brad, Dudley and Piper (Corey's dog). The first thing he said every morning was, "Corey? Piper outside?". He loved being out on the deck with Piper while we kept the patio door open. The weather was fantastic!
I'll admit, I began to get a little overwhelmed toward the end with Jonathan because I felt like a single parent. I have a new found respect for single parents! I was constantly on him trying to make sure he was polite and not a little terror. Nobody likes a terror for a 2-year old! It would have been different if Joseph had been with me because we could have tag-teamed him, but J had to stay in Denton for school so I was on my own. Plus, we had zero structure. Jonathan is normally a very laid back kid and goes with the flow very easily, but for some reason, he wasn't sleeping well and became very defiant to anything I said. I honestly think he was having so much fun and I was the buzz kill.
Either way, I was glad to get back home but it was great seeing Corey Mac in his new Colorado environment. He's definitely thriving and the mountains suit him well. I can't wait to go back in February with the whole family and go skiing. It's been 10 years since I've been on skis...I'm thinking it will be like riding a bike. Here's hoping!

Jonathan and the belly

Just some funny things Jonathan has done during this pregnancy that I didn't want to forget.

~When you ask him, "What's in Mommy's belly?" he says, "Ball."

~He has to see my belly every morning when I go to get him out of his crib. And if I don't lift up my shirt enough, he'll lift it for me.

~He likes to bump his belly to mine. We make a sound effect to go along with it and he thinks it essential to his life.

~He prays for mommy & "baby brother" every night, that we will grow healthy and strong.

~When we're sitting down together on the couch, he'll lay his hand across my belly and pat it absentmindedly.

I'm sure he's done more, but these are things he does on a consistent basis. He's my favorite Jonathan.

Here's the first pictures I've had taken of this pregnancy. I'm halfway through it which is pretty hard to believe. This one has flown by!

Boys have a penis and girls have a vagina...

Sorry for the title. I couldn't think of anything but this line from Kindergarten Cop. Anybody remember that movie? I loved it. "It's not a tuma!" I'm weird, I know... But you know you love me...
I hate I didn't take a picture of this but I wanted to remember it. I found out we're having another boy on Monday, April 19th and was wanting to surprise my parents in person. I decided to make a small cake and tint it blue. I iced it with dark chocolate icing so the blue wouldn't show through and wrote on the top "Boy or Girl...What is it?". My mom thought she was going to have to dig through it and find a gender appropriate baby but my dad immediately saw blue cake and yelled out, "It's blue!". Yay for surprises! Congratulations Vivi and Daddy Mac on another adorable grandson.
In the words of my dad, "Uh oh! Here come those Martino boys!".

Yay! Baseball!

My mom and I took Jonathan to his first Texas Rangers game and he loved it. My mom and I are both huge Rangers fans and Joseph isn't into baseball at all, so we're taking on the responsibility of teaching Jonathan about America's Greatest Pastime. :) We sat right next to the Toronto bullpen so he watched the relief pitchers warming up most of the game. After the game, all he would say was "Yay baseball!" and "Go Rangers!". We will definitely go to many more games this season. C'mon Rangers! This is our year!

General Conference & Easter Weekend

General Conference was amazing. For those who don't know, General Conference is our church's opportunity to listen to our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson and the Apostles speak along with other members of church leadership every six months. It's incredibly fortifying and uplifting and we always receive guidance from our Heavenly Father on how to better live our lives. Joseph's Uncle Jim spoke in the Sunday afternoon session and it was pretty incredible to see him on TV giving such an amazing talk.

Easter morning, we woke up to the Easter Bunny's gift to Jonathan. I hadn't really prepped Jonathan for who the Easter Bunny is. I don't know why, I think I just kept forgetting. When we opened Jonathan's door I said, "Jonathan! The Easter Bunny came! Check it out!". He just looked at us from his crib and said, "Huh?". It was hilarious! But after he saw all the cool stuff he got, he totally knew what was up. Easter Bunny = candy & presents.
